PWS Member George Hawkes
George is an artist living in Plymouth, in the beautiful south west of England next to the Cornish border. He started painting in 2015 after a book he bought was about drawing monsters. Drawing and painting quickly became his passion even though he was in his 60s.
He now works in many mediums including Watercolour, Acrylics, Graphite, Charcoal as well as Soft Pastel, Oils and recently experimenting with Airbrushing. Subjects include Seascapes, Landscapes, Portraiture, Animal and Human, Events, Architecture, Fantasy, Experimental, Ancient Artefacts.
He has exhibited his work with excellent results gaining commissions for portraiture as well as selling original works of art on the spot.
He is a member of Plymouth Water Colour Society. and the Plymstock P.a.n.d.a.s.

When asked what he thinks the future holds for him he answered “Retirement and more painting” and begins to laugh. Go for it George!
